About

Hugs and Pullups

Hugs and Pullups is a Chicago and Los Angeles-based comedy troupe that has been performing together since March 2009.  Through improvised scenes, Hugs and Pullups brings to life bold characters, grounded relationships, and an unapologetic palette of often twisted reality.

Hugs and Pullups is a group comprised of members that have studied at several Chicago theatres including iO Theater, The Second City Conservatory and The Annoyance Theatre training programs.  Hugs and Pullups were coached by accomplished Chicago performer and improviser Piero Procaccini.

Hugs and Pullups have hosted several successful headlining runs at The Upstairs Gallery, The Second Stage, Donny’s Skybox, and Studio BE.  In addition, Hugs and Pullups have performed at The de Maat Studio, The Playground, Gorilla Tango Theatre, The Cornservatory, and Chemically Imbalanced Comedy.

They performed at The Chicago Live Festival (2010), Chemically Imbalanced Comedy’s Snubfest (2011), The Detroit Improv Festival (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019), The Twin Cities Improv Festival (2014), The Milwaukee Comedy Festival (2013), and The Chicago Improv Festival (2013, 2014, 2015).
